Engineer Toheeb Adegoke ADLAT, the APM candidate for Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency, has proposed the establishment of a Technology and ICT Hub in every Local Government Area across Nigeria, saying the initiative could contribute significantly to youth empowerment and job creation.

ADLAT made the proposal while appearing on Isaac Mayor’s programme on Fresh FM, where he discussed his ideas on youth development, employment creation and effective legislative representation.

Explaining one of the initiatives he would like to pursue through legislation, ADLAT said: “I want to propose a bill to create a Tech/ICT Hub in every Local Government in Nigeria to develop youths and create jobs.”

The proposal is built around the idea of taking technology and digital opportunities closer to young people at the grassroots. According to ADLAT, establishing ICT hubs at the Local Government level could provide young Nigerians with access to digital skills training, technology resources, innovation and opportunities for entrepreneurship.

For ADLAT, youth empowerment should go beyond short-term interventions. He believes providing young people with access to technology, relevant skills and platforms for innovation could help them develop capabilities that can translate into employment and sustainable sources of livelihood.

His emphasis on every Local Government gives the proposal a grassroots dimension, with the intention of making technology-driven opportunities accessible not only to youths in major cities but also to those in communities across the country.

The proposal formed part of ADLAT’s contributions during the Fresh FM programme as he continues to articulate his ideas on youth empowerment, job creation and what he considers effective representation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
