Barrister Seun Temilolu Nurudeen Ashamu, popularly known as Seun TNA, has declared that his ambition to represent Oyo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives in 2027 is driven by a desire to introduce a new face, fresh energy and new ideas into the politics of the constituency.
In a viral video, the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) candidate said his legislative priorities, if elected, would include infrastructure development, employment opportunities for youths, skills acquisition and other initiatives aimed at improving the capacity and economic prospects of constituents. Ashamu stressed that his approach to empowerment would focus on creating sustainable opportunities rather than relying solely on the distribution of immediate relief.
According to him, his philosophy is to “teach people how to fish rather than distribute fish,” reflecting his emphasis on equipping people with skills, opportunities and the capacity to become economically independent. He said the goal should be to build people and create pathways through which they can improve their own livelihoods.
Ashamu concluded by stressing his belief that Oyo Federal Constituency deserves more and that, if given the opportunity to serve, “he will do better.” His remarks have added another dimension to the emerging political conversation ahead of the 2027 House of Representatives election.
