The communities of Aragba, Ifelodun and Okeremi in Ibadan North Local Government Area have commended the former PDP candidate for Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the 2023 election, Hon. Lanre Sarumi, for his intervention aimed at enhancing security and protecting lives and property within the communities.
The communities expressed their appreciation following the donation and installation of a modern security gate, Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras and solar-powered security lights across the area.
According to the residents, the initiative demonstrates Sarumi’s commitment to the safety and wellbeing of the people, describing the projects as timely interventions that would help improve security surveillance and deter criminal activities.
They particularly praised the former federal constituency candidate for responding to the security concerns of residents and urged other political leaders and well-meaning individuals to emulate his commitment to community development.
The communities also expressed their readiness to support leaders and candidates who prioritise the welfare and security of the people, while declaring their support for Governor Seyi Makinde’s presidential ambition and Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi’s gubernatorial aspiration ahead of the 2027 elections.
They maintained that their support would be based on leadership that delivers tangible development, promotes peace and security, and remains connected to the grassroots.
