The lawmaker representing Ibadan South East/North East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abass Adigun Agboworin, has felicitated with Muslims across his constituency, Oyo State and Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration.
Agboworin, in a goodwill message issued on Tuesday by his amedia Group, described the occasion as an opportunity for Muslims and indeed all Nigerians to reflect on the life, teachings and exemplary character of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
The lawmaker urged Muslims to continue to uphold the virtues of love, compassion, humility, peaceful coexistence, honesty and service to humanity which, he said, were central to the teachings and life of the Prophet.
He called on Nigerians to use the occasion to strengthen the bonds of unity and tolerance irrespective of religious, ethnic or political differences.
The lawmaker wished Muslims a peaceful and blessed Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration, urging them to celebrate responsibly and extend love and kindness to others, particularly the vulnerable and less privileged in society.
