The Okanlomo Odua and Gbonka Olubadan, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has commended His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, for his visionary leadership and timely call for the mobilisation of the traditional institution towards the successful flag-off of the Ibadan-Ijebu Ode Road Dualisation Project.
‎

‎Sanusi, in a statement personally signed and made available to journalists on Monday, described the Olubadan’s intervention as a demonstration of the traditional institution’s important role as a pillar of unity, development and progress in Ibadanland.
‎
‎He noted that by bringing traditional leaders together around a project of immense economic and strategic importance, Oba Ladoja had further demonstrated that the palace is not only a custodian of history and culture but also a strong partner in advancing the welfare and development of the people.
‎
‎According to him, the Ibadan-Ijebu Ode Road is more than a road project, describing it as a vital economic corridor that will strengthen connectivity between communities, create new opportunities for commerce and investment, improve the movement of people and goods, and contribute significantly to the development of Oyo State and the wider South-West.
‎
‎The Okanlomo Odua therefore commended the Olubadan for recognising the importance of collective traditional leadership and mobilising the royal institution to support a project capable of delivering lasting benefits to present and future generations.
‎
‎Sanusi also urged traditional rulers and other stakeholders in Ibadanland to continue supporting initiatives that promote development, noting that the success of major infrastructure projects requires cooperation and collective ownership.
‎
‎He said the completion of the road would have far-reaching economic benefits for Ibadan and surrounding communities, particularly by improving transportation, boosting trade and attracting investments along the corridor.
‎
‎“This is a project that will impact generations yet unborn. We must therefore support every genuine effort to ensure its successful delivery. The traditional institution has a critical role to play in mobilising our people and fostering the cooperation required for such transformative projects,” Sanusi said.
‎
‎He added, “Kabiyesi’s call for mobilisation is timely and commendable. It reflects the kind of leadership that recognises the connection between traditional authority, good governance and sustainable development. We must all stand together to support projects that will improve the lives of our people.”
‎
‎He expressed hope that the mobilisation would strengthen collaboration among the Federal Government, Oyo State Government and the traditional institution of Ibadanland in driving transformative infrastructure and sustainable economic development.
‎
‎“Kabiyesi, your leadership is deeply appreciated. Your vision is respected. Your commitment to Ibadanland will be remembered,” Sanusi said.
‎
‎He prayed for Almighty God to grant the Olubadan long life, wisdom, strength and continued success on the throne of his forefathers.
‎
‎
‎Signed:
‎
‎Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi
‎Okanlomo Odua, Gbonka Olubadan
