
The Oyo State Government has congratulated the Chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) in Oyo State, Comrade Bosun Olabiyi-Agoro, on his emergence as the President of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN).


Acting Governor of the state, Barr. Abdulraheem Bayo Lawal, in a statement on Sunday, described Olabiyi-Agoro’s emergence as a good development for the Association, noting that Comrade Olabiyi-Agoro’s experience, exposure and patriotism will be brought to bear in taking PENGASSAN to the next level.

He lauded the Oyo TUC chairman for being a worthy ambassador of Oyo State, who has continued to excel as a pacesetter in line with the state’s identity.

According to him, the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, is delighted that a leading Labour unionist in the state, who has worked with the administration towards instituting better welfare package for the workforce, has emerged as leader of a foremost trade union group like PENGASSAN.


He said: “I have just been informed that the chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Oyo State Council, Comrade Bosun Olabiyi-Agoro, has emerged as the President of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN).

“This is another positive development and a testament to the excellence that our great state has been renowned for over the years.
“I congratulate Comrade Olabiyi-Agoro, a man of purpose, whose commitment to labour unionism and workers’ advancement has never been disguised, on emerging as the President of PENGASSAN
“His emergence as president is a positive development for the association, and I have no doubt that he will bring his wealth of experience to bear on moving the association forward.
“While celebrating him, I want to equally restate that the Seyi Makinde administration will continue to work harmoniously with labour unions and their leaders in the state with a view to achieving the objective of delivering better welfare to workers and good governance to the generality of the people.”
