Hon. Dr. Olufunke Comforter Adeniyi-Olajide, Member of the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Ibadan North State Constituency I, and candidate, Allied People Movement (APM) warmly felicitates with traditional worshippers, cultural custodians and the entire Yoruba people on the celebration of Isese Day.

Hon. Comforter described Isese as a significant part of the rich cultural heritage of the Yoruba people, stressing the importance of preserving the values, history, traditions and indigenous knowledge passed down from one generation to another.

She noted that beyond the celebration, Isese Day offers an opportunity for reflection, thanksgiving and prayers for the wellbeing of individuals, families, communities and the nation.

The lawmaker urged traditional worshippers to use the occasion to fervently pray for peace, unity, security, prosperity and sustainable development in Oyo State and Nigeria. She also called on all Nigerians to continue to embrace religious tolerance, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence, regardless of their faith or cultural background.

Hon. Comforter emphasised that Nigeria’s strength lies in its diversity, adding that every legitimate cultural and religious tradition has a role to play in promoting peace, responsible citizenship and community development.

She further encouraged parents and community leaders to teach younger generations the positive values embedded in Yoruba culture, including respect for elders, honesty, communal responsibility, hard work, peaceful coexistence and love for humanity.

She prayed that the celebration would usher in renewed hope, greater unity and abundant blessings for the Yoruba people and all Nigerians.

“As we celebrate Isese Day, let us remember our roots, uphold the positive values of our heritage and continue to pray for peace, unity and progress in our dear Oyo State and Nigeria.”

Happy Isese Day to all traditional worshippers and lovers of Yoruba culture!
