Dr. Femi Ojo has expressed profound appreciation to the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, Senator Monsurat Olajumoke Sunmonu, and leaders of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) following his appointment and inauguration as the Deputy Director-General for Oyo Central Senatorial District in the campaign council of the party’s 2027 governorship candidate, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, and his running mate, Hon. Open Salau.
Dr. Ojo, who was officially inaugurated into the campaign council, described the appointment as a great privilege, a call to higher responsibility, and a demonstration of the confidence reposed in him by the party’s leadership. He pledged to justify the trust by committing his experience, resources, and energy towards ensuring the success of the APM in the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued on Saturday shortly after his inauguration, the campaign official said he accepted the appointment with a deep sense of responsibility and unwavering determination to contribute meaningfully to the party’s quest to provide purposeful and people-oriented leadership for Oyo State.
According to him, the assignment is not merely a political appointment but a responsibility that requires dedication, strategic planning, and effective grassroots mobilisation across the Oyo Central Senatorial District.
Dr. Ojo extended heartfelt appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde for his leadership style and continued commitment to the development of Oyo State, noting that the governor’s support and encouragement have inspired many leaders and stakeholders to remain committed to advancing the state’s progress.
He also expressed gratitude to Senator Monsurat Olajumoke Sunmonu, for her exemplary leadership, political mentorship, and unwavering support for the growth of progressive politics in Oyo State. He described her as a respected stateswoman whose contributions to democratic governance and grassroots development continue to inspire younger generations of political leaders.
The newly inaugurated Deputy Director-General further thanked the leadership of the Allied Peoples Movement, party executives, campaign council members, and stakeholders for considering him worthy of the strategic position. He assured them that he would work tirelessly with members of the campaign structure to strengthen the party’s presence across all local government areas in Oyo Central and mobilise massive support for the governorship aspiration of Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi and his deputy, Hon. Open Salau.
He said the campaign council would focus on issue-based engagement, grassroots consultation, and inclusive participation aimed at presenting the party’s vision and programmes to the people, while ensuring that every eligible voter is adequately mobilised ahead of the elections.
