The Chief Whip of the Oyo State House of Assembly and member representing Atiba State Constituency, Gbenga Joseph Oyekola, has extended warm greetings to Muslim faithful in Oyo State and across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid al-Adha celebration.

Oyekola, in a statement made available to journalists in Eid al-Adha morning, described Eid al-Adha as a significant Islamic festival that symbolizes obedience, sacrifice, faith, and devotion to God, urging Muslims to uphold the virtues of love, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence during and beyond the festive period.

The lawmaker called on Nigerians, particularly residents of Oyo State, to use the occasion to offer fervent prayers for the peace, stability, and progress of the state and the nation amidst prevailing security challenges confronting the country.

According to him, the current security situation requires collective responsibility, unity, and sincere prayers from citizens, religious leaders, and stakeholders to support government efforts aimed at restoring lasting peace and protecting lives and property.

Oyekola further encouraged Muslim faithful to emulate the exemplary life of Prophet Ibrahim by demonstrating compassion, generosity, and commitment to humanity, especially towards the less privileged in society.

He also urged residents of Atiba State Constituency and Oyo State at large to continue supporting the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde in its developmental strides and commitment to good governance.

While wishing Muslims a peaceful and fulfilling Eid celebration, the Chief Whip prayed for divine blessings, prosperity, and enduring peace across Oyo State and Nigeria.
