The gubernatorial aspiration of Governor Seyi Makinde-backed Bimbo Adekanmbi received a significant boost as all serving Oyo State members of the House of Representatives on the platform of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) declared their support for him.
The meeting which took place at his private residence on Saturday saw all five of the six members of the Federal House of Representatives in attendance.
It would be recalled that nearly five days ago, in a meeting with Governor Seyi Makinde and critical stakeholders in Oyo State, the choice of the former commissioner and deputy chief of staff was sealed as the successor of the governor in 2027.

The meeting and declaration of support for his candidature by the members of the APM House of Representatives in Oyo State became necessary as it signals the direction Oyo State people will go in the 2027 general elections.

The members of the APM House of Representatives who are in attendance include Hon. Dhikirulahi Stanley Olajide (OdidiOmo), Ibadan South West/Ibadan North West Federal Constituency; Hon. Abass Adigun Adekunle (Agbowórin), Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency; Hon. Sunday Folajimi Oyekunle (DON), Ibadan North Federal Constituency; Hon. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, Ibarapa North/Ibarapa Central Federal Constituency; and Hon. Shina Abayomi Oyedeji, Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency.
