The Oyo State Fire Services Agency has successfully rescued a 26-year-old man alive after he trapped in a Seventy-Eight (78) feet deep well in Oyo State.
The incident occurred on Tuesday at Seriki Ashipa Majaopo, Ajia Village, Ibadan.
Residents raised alarm after discovering that the victim had become trapped inside the well under unclear circumstances.
The Chairman of Oyo State Fire Service Reform/Agency Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande confirmed the incident.

He said, ‘Officer of the agency led by CFS Adesina swiftly responded and deployed to the distress call and on getting there it was about 26th years old trapped in a Seventy-Eight (78) feet deep well.
“We quickly swung into action with specialized rescue equipment, rescued the victim alive and handed him over to a team of policemen from Akanran Police Divisional Headquarters led by ASP Agboola Babatunde.
Also, the fire service launched a coordinated attack and restricted the fire from spreading to the ground floor of a storey building at No.3, Barika Mojeruku Street, University of Ibadan, Ibadan.
Heritage Echo gathered that the incident was a twins three bedrooms flats at the upper floor of a storey residential engulfed by flames and thick smokes.
No life was lost as the fire incident was as a result of an explosion from unattended cooking gas.
Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande confirmed the development stating that firemen led by CFS Adesina swiftly mobilized and deployed to the scene of the incident.
“Upon arrival, it was twins three bedrooms flats at the upper floor of a storey residential engulfed by flames and thick smokes. Our officers quickly launched a coordinated attack and restricted the fire from spreading to the ground floor of the building.

Residents applauded the Oyo State Governor Engr ‘Seyi Makinde for providing state-of-the-art equipment to the State Fire Service Reform in responding to emergencies.
Akinwande now urged residents to promptly contact the Fire Service at the early stage of any fire outbreak, before it escalates beyond control.
He also emphasized the importance of having functioning fire fighting extinguishers in every household and commercial building to prevent fire at the incipient stage.
