Former Deputy Chief of Staff and ex-Commissioner for Finance in Oyo State, Bimbo Adekambi, has officially declared his intention to contest for the governorship of Oyo State.

The declaration was made during a high-level visit to the State Secretariat of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) located in Oke Ado, where he met with State Executives, Local Government Party Chairmen, and other critical stakeholders within the party.

Adekambi’s announcement was received with widespread enthusiasm, as party members erupted in joy and expressed strong support for his aspiration.
The gathering reflected a united front, with key figures within the PDP acknowledging his experience and contributions to governance in Oyo State.

In his remarks, Adekambi emphasized his readiness to serve and his commitment to building on existing developmental strides within the state.

He called for unity among party members as preparations begin ahead of the electoral season.

The State Chairman of the party, who hosted the meeting, described the moment as significant for the PDP in Oyo State. He offered prayers for Adekambi’s success, expressing optimism that he would enjoy divine favor and also secure the goodwill of the incumbent governor, Seyi Makinde.

Party stakeholders present at the meeting also expressed confidence in Adekambi’s capacity to lead, citing his administrative experience and understanding of the state’s economic landscape as key strengths that position him for higher responsibility. Several speakers noted that his entry into the race could further energize the party’s base and deepen internal democratic engagement ahead of the primaries.
