Market leaders and community stakeholders across Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency have pledged their support for Tosin Alabi’s political ambition, in what observers describe as a significant boost to his growing profile ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement came from representatives of key trading centres, including Bola Ige International Market, Adegbayi, Iyana Agbala, Oluwo and Egbeda Market, alongside other neighbourhood markets within the constituency.

The traders, regarded as a major grassroots force, expressed confidence in Alabi’s capacity to represent their interests and address challenges affecting local commerce and livelihoods.

Several stakeholders noted that their decision was informed by Alabi’s track record of engagement with community members and his advocacy for youth development, education and economic empowerment.

They described him as a candidate who understands the realities faced by ordinary residents as Alabi’s emergence has been linked to a broader shift in Nigeria’s political space, where younger aspirants are increasingly gaining attention in constituencies traditionally dominated by established figures.

His rise has been portrayed by supporters as evidence that persistence and community connection can translate into political relevance.

Widely referred to by supporters as “a son of nobody who became somebody”, Alabi’s journey from relative obscurity to prominence has resonated with many in Egbeda/Ona Ara.

Community members, including parents and guardians, have pointed to his story as a source of inspiration for younger generations.
