The Forum of Local Government Chairmen in Oyo State has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful across the state on the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan.

In a statement issued on Thursday in Ibadan and jointly signed by the Forum Chairman, Sikiru Sanda, and the Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Akintayo, the council leaders described Ramadan as a sacred period characterised by deep reflection, devotion, self-discipline, and renewed commitment to the service of Almighty Allah and humanity.

The chairmen commended the Muslim community across the 33 local government areas of the state for their continuous prayers for peace, progress, and good governance. They noted that such spiritual support remains crucial in fostering unity, stability, and democratic growth, as well as ensuring the smooth running of the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde.

“We join our Muslim Ummah, brothers and sisters, in celebrating Eid al-Fitr, and express gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting the grace to witness the end of this blessed month,” the statement read.

The forum further urged adherents of Islam not to relent in upholding the virtues of patience (sabr), generosity, humility, and righteousness cultivated during Ramadan, stressing that these values should continue to guide daily conduct beyond the fasting period.

While congratulating Muslims on the Eid celebration, the chairmen reaffirmed their commitment to the Makinde administration’s inclusive governance agenda, social welfare policies, and the sustained development of Oyo State for the benefit of all residents, regardless of religious affiliation.
