In a renewed demonstration of his commitment to spiritual growth, community development, and inclusive leadership, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aspirant for the Ona-Ara State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Dr. Temitope Afolabi, has announced the maiden edition of a Ramadan Lecture for residents of Ona-Ara Local Government.

The highly anticipated Islamic gathering, themed “Spiritual Value of Ramadan,” is scheduled to hold on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the PDP Party Office, Olunloyo, Off Akanran Road, Ibadan, starting at 11:00am.

The lecture will be delivered by the respected Islamic cleric, Fodilat Sheikh Maruff Alawiye Baale, whose profound knowledge of Islamic teachings and moral guidance continues to inspire faithful across Oyo State and beyond.

Dr. Afolabi, widely admired for his humility, generosity, and grassroots engagement, said the initiative is aimed at encouraging spiritual reflection, unity, and moral discipline during the holy month of Ramadan while also fostering peaceful coexistence among residents of Ona-Ara and the larger Oyo community.

Political observers and community stakeholders have described the initiative as another clear reflection of Dr. Afolabi’s people-centered vision and his unwavering dedication to the welfare and moral upliftment of his constituents. Many noted that beyond politics, the aspirant has consistently demonstrated a deep passion for community-building, empowerment, and faith-based engagements that strengthen the social fabric of society.

According to him, Ramadan remains a sacred period that teaches values such as patience, sacrifice, compassion, charity, and good leadership—virtues he believes are essential for building a progressive and responsible society.

Dr. Afolabi therefore warmly invites residents of Ona-Ara Local Government, PDP members, religious leaders, market men and women, youth groups, and the general public across Oyo State to attend the historic maiden lecture and benefit from the spiritual teachings and prayers for the peace, unity, and prosperity of Ona-Ara and Oyo State at large.

He emphasized that the event will not only serve as a spiritual enlightenment platform but also a moment for collective prayers for good governance, community development, and the continued progress of the state.
