The Executive Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen, has presented a cheque of ₦1,500,000 to the Technical Community in Ejioku for the repair and installation of their 500kVA transformer.

The presentation, which took place on Thursday, is part of ongoing efforts by the council to address critical infrastructure challenges and improve power supply in underserved areas and communities under its jurisdiction.

Hon. Kamorudeen, described in local circles as one of the youngest and most proactive council chairmen in the state, handed over the cheque to representatives of the Technical Community Ejioku, through the LG’s Director of Administration and General Services (DAGS), Mr. Oyewole Oyelade amid appreciation from community leaders and residents who have long endured power outages due to the faulty transformer.

The 500kVA transformer serves as a vital power infrastructure for households, small businesses, and other essential activities in the area. Its breakdown had reportedly caused significant hardship for the people, affecting daily life and economic productivity.

Speaking during the handover, Mr. Oyelade emphasized the Kamorudeen led-administration’s commitment to grassroots development and responsive governance, in line with the vision of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration to deliver dividends of democracy at the local level.

“This gesture is a demonstration of the administration’s resolve to prioritise the welfare of our people,” Oyelade said. “Reliable electricity remains key to progress, and we will continue to collaborate with communities to fix such critical needs.”

Residents and stakeholders in Ejioku commended the timely intervention, describing it as a welcome relief that would restore normalcy and boost local enterprises once the transformer is fully repaired and energised.

The move forms part of a broader pattern of interventions by the Lagelu chairman, Mr. Kamorudeen Mudashiru who has been recognised for crucial initiatives in infrastructure, education, security, and welfare support across geopolitical zones in the local government area.
