The Oyo State Fire Service has recovered two bodies and rescued one survivor from a fatal road accident in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The incident occurred on Tuesday at Arapaja Bridge in the Kudeti area of the city, where emergency responders were deployed following reports of a lone-vehicle crash.

Heritage Echo gathered that a Lexus Jeep, with registration number KSF297JF, reportedly lost control while in motion, somersaulted into a nearby gutter, and subsequently caught fire.

Officials of the fire service, who arrived promptly at the scene, recovered the bodies of two male victims from the wreckage. At the same time, one occupant was rescued alive and provided with immediate assistance.

The Chairman of the agency, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Tuesday evening.

According to Akinwande, preliminary findings suggest that reckless driving may have led to the tragic incident.

He added that the recovered bodies have been handed over to officers of the Nigeria Police Force, Mapo Divisional Headquarters, for further investigation and necessary procedures.

Akinwande also commended the response team and security support provided by the police during the rescue and recovery operation.
