Restoring Hope Through Healthcare: Egbeda/Ona Ara Communities Rejoice as Gbaroye Sponsors Multi‑Million Naira Free Medical Mission

Residents of Ona Ara and Egbeda Local Government Areas experienced renewed hope this week as Hon. Seye Gbaroye—popularly known as Omo’Wa and a leading aspirant for the Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency—launched a large-scale, multi‑million‑naira free medical outreach across the two LGAs.

The initiative was officially flagged off in Ona Ara on February 20, 2026, and continued in Egbeda on February 21, 2026, drawing massive turnout in both communities. Against the backdrop of rising economic hardship and limited access to quality healthcare, the outreach was designed to ensure that no resident is denied medical attention due to financial constraints. As Gbaroye emphasized, “financial status should never be a barrier to staying alive.”

A Lifeline for Hundreds

From the early hours of each day, hundreds of residents—including senior citizens, pregnant women, traders, and artisans—gathered at the designated centers to receive essential medical care. For many, the outreach was more than a political gesture; it was a timely and life‑changing intervention.

The medical mission provided a comprehensive range of services:

  • General Consultations: One‑on‑one sessions with qualified medical doctors.
  • Diagnostic Testing: On‑site screening for malaria, hypertension, and diabetes.
  • Free Medication: Full courses of prescribed drugs provided at no cost.
  • Preventive Health Education: Guidance on nutrition, chronic disease management, and healthy living in today’s economy.

“A Leader Who Feels the Pulse of the People”

Speaking at the Egbeda flag‑off, Hon. Gbaroye reiterated his commitment to human capital development and community well‑being.

“Today is not about speeches; it is about service. I have seen our people struggle to choose between buying food and buying drugs. No one should have to make that choice. By taking off the burden of these hospital bills, we are investing in the most important asset of Egbeda and Ona-Ara—our people.”

Community Impact

The impact was immediate and deeply felt. One elderly beneficiary, Pa Adebayo, shared his relief:

“I have had this prescription for three weeks but couldn’t afford the drugs. Today, Hon. Seye Gbaroye has given them to me for free. This is the kind of representation we have been waiting for.”

The outreach stands as a strong testament to Gbaroye’s “People‑First” agenda and signals his readiness to champion accessible, community‑centered governance at the federal level.
