Stop Using my Name for Cheap Political Relevance — Oyo PMS Chair Fires Warning Shot at Oyo N Peo Movement

…Urges Oriyomi to Focus on Kokoro Alate Programme

The Chairman of the Oyo State Park Management System (PMS), Alhaji Abdulwasiu Tomiwa Omolewa, has launched a fierce attack on those peddling what he described as reckless political propaganda, following reports falsely linking him to the political ambition of Dr. Oriyomi Hamzat.

Tommy made this clarification on Wednesday while addressing branch chairmen of the PMS at the state headquarters, where he categorically denied ever endorsing, supporting, or aligning himself with Dr. Hamzat or any political project, describing the report as a blatant lie manufactured to hijack his name for political gain.

“Let it be clear to everyone: I did not, at any time, declare support for Oriyomi Hamzat. Any report suggesting otherwise is a fabrication,” he said.

The PMS chairman accused the Oyo N Peo Movement of deliberately twisting facts to create confusion within the state’s political space, warning that he would no longer tolerate the misuse of his name for what he called cheap political relevance.

“I will not sit back while desperate individuals exploit my position to promote an agenda I am not part of. Anyone found spreading these falsehoods should be ready to face legal consequences,” Omolewa warned.

He urged Oriyomi Hamzat to channel his energy more on his Kokoro Alate radio programme where he settles marital issues if he doesn’t understand what governance is all about.

Clarifying further, Tommy stressed that official vehicles belonging to the Oyo PMS must not be used for political activities, urging politicians to make independent arrangements for vehicles to convey their supporters to campaign grounds.

He also dismissed reports suggesting that PMS officials had instructed drivers to stop conveying commuters, describing such claims as false and misleading.

“At no time did we order drivers not to convey commuters to their various destinations. Our mandate is to serve the public, not disrupt their daily activities,” he stated.

Reasserting his political stance, Omolewa declared that his loyalty remained firmly with Governor Seyi Makinde, stressing that the transport sector in Oyo State stands solidly behind the governor’s leadership and developmental vision.

“My allegiance is clear and unwavering. I stand with Governor Seyi Makinde, and transport stakeholders across the state are fully committed to his leadership and the Omituntun 3.0 Agenda,” he said.

He further emphasised that PMS officials are government appointees and not politicians, warning against attempts to drag the agency into partisan battles.

“We are government officials; we are not politicians. No one should drag us into their dirty political game,” Omolewa said.

He added that the Oyo State PMS remains focused on its core responsibility of maintaining peace, order, and efficiency across motor parks in the state, insisting that it would not be distracted by what he described as “manufactured political noise.”
