
The Secretary of Oyo West Local Government, Hon. Adekanmbi Adepeju Folashade, has extended warm New Year felicitations to stakeholders and residents of the local government as they usher in the year 2026 with renewed hope and optimism.
In a New Year message made available to journalists, Hon. Adepeju expressed gratitude to God for the successful completion of the past year and the opportunity to witness a new beginning, describing the New Year as a period for reflection, unity, and collective progress.
She commended stakeholders, traditional leaders, community development associations, and residents for their continued support and cooperation, noting that their contributions have been instrumental to the stability and development of Oyo West Local Government.
Hon. Adepeju acknowledged the economic and social challenges faced in the outgoing year, stating that the resilience and understanding displayed by residents helped sustain peace and effective grassroots governance.
The local government secretary assured stakeholders and residents of the administration’s renewed commitment to people-oriented policies and programmes aimed at improving service delivery and enhancing the welfare of the populace.
According to her, efforts would be intensified in the New Year to strengthen administrative efficiency, promote transparency, and ensure that governance remains inclusive and responsive to the needs of all communities within the local government.
She emphasized the importance of collaboration among political leaders, civil servants, youth groups, and women associations, stressing that sustainable development can only be achieved through collective responsibility and shared vision.
Hon. Adepeju also urged residents to continue to support the leadership of Oyo West Local Government and the Oyo State Government under Governor Seyi Makinde, assuring them that ongoing reforms and initiatives would yield greater dividends in the New Year.
While wishing all residents a prosperous and peaceful year, she encouraged youths to remain law-abiding and proactive, urging them to take advantage of empowerment and capacity-building opportunities available at the local and state levels.
She further called on community leaders and stakeholders to sustain peaceful coexistence and promote dialogue, noting that unity remains a critical driver of development and social harmony.
