No fewer than eight (08) shops were gutted by an inferno as properties worth millions of naira were destroyed in Ibadan.

Heritage Echo gathered that the incident occurred on Monday at the shopping complex attached to the Sango Police divisional headquarters, Sango, Ibadan Oyo State capital.
The root cause of the fire incident has yet to be ascertained, and an investigation is still in progress.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform/Agency Chairman, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande confirmed the incident.
Akinwande stated that no life was lost in their incident.
While it reiterated that the operation was carried out in conjunction with men of the Federal Fire Service.
According to him; “Upon arrival, we met eight (8) out of eighty-four (84) shops engulfed by fire.
“Firemen promptly launched a coordinated attack on the blaze and restricted the fire from spreading to other shops.
“The firefighting operation was jointly carried out with the officers from Federal Fire Service, Ibadan Command”.
The victims applauded the Oyo State government for providing state-of-the-art equipment to the state fire service in responding to emergencies.
Equally, Hon. Akinwande urged the public to be conscious of fire and emphasized the importance of having fire extinguishers in every shop and household to prevent fire incidents at the incipient stage.
