The Forum of Oyo State Council Chairmen has expressed deep shock and sadness over the death of a former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Abdul-Rasak Ademola Abdullahi, popularly known as Omo Sheu.

Hon. Abdullahi, who represented Ibadan South East State Constituency 1, in the 9th Oyo State House of Assembly, passed away on Sunday night after a prolonged battle with a kidney-related illness.

In a condolence statement issued by the forum’s Publicity Secretary, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, the council chairmen, under the leadership of their chairman, Hon. Sikiru Sanda, described the demise as shocking and an irreparable loss to his family, political associates, and the people of Oyo State.

The forum extended its heartfelt condolences to Governor Seyi Makinde, the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin, PDP National Secretary, Ambassador Taofeek Oladejo, members of the 9th Assembly, the current lawmakers of the Oyo State House of Assembly, the people of Ibadan South East Local Government, and the entire family of the late lawmaker.

According to the statement, Hon. Abdullahi’s tenure in the House of Assembly was marked by strong advocacy for community development and improved social services.

The council chairmen noted that Omo Sheu was widely respected for his grassroots connection and unwavering commitment to the welfare of his constituents, particularly in Ibadan South East.

The forum prayed for the repose of his soul and for God to grant his family, colleagues, and loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss.
