Properties worth millions of naira have been destroyed as Fire ravaged a residential Building In Ibadan, Oyo State capital.


Heritage Echo gathered that the incident occurred on Saturday 27th December, 2025, at No. 51, Alemuloke Street, Sango, Ibadan.
It was six(6) rooms out of twelve (12)rooms that were met well alight at the upper floor of a storey residential building.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform/Agency Chairman, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande confirmed the incident.



Akinwande, in a statement released and made available to Heritage Echo News, stated that the Firefighters, led by CFS Adedeji (Mrs.), immediately mobilized and deployed to the scene.

He said, “Upon arrival, six(6) rooms out of twelve(12)rooms were well alight at the upper floor of a storey residential building. Our officers quickly swung into action and curtailed the fire from spreading to the other rooms not affected by fire before arrival, the ground floor, and nearby buildings.

“The operation was jointly carried out with the Federal Fire Service Ibadan Command and no casualty was recorded.

He further stated that properties worth millions of naira were saved from the inferno.
Equally, the Oyo State fire service attended a prefabricated shop used as a grinding mill that was covered by flames.
Heritage Echo gathered that the incident occurred on Friday, 26th December, 2025 at Omojoda Street, Faramora Area, Iseyin axis of Oyo State.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande confirmed the incident and stated that ACFS Azeez quickly mobilized to the scene.

He said, “The prefabricated shop used as a grinding mill was covered by flames.
“Immediately firemen swung into action and restricted the fire from spreading to nearby residential buildings.
“Properties worth millions of naira were saved by the fire service.
“No casualty was recorded, the fire incident was a result of an electric spark igniting combustible materials.
However, residents commended the Executive Governor of Oyo State Engr ‘Seyi Makinde for providing state-of-the-art equipment to the State fire service in responding to emergencies as needed.
Akinwande commended the swift and professional intervention of the fire officers who prevented the situation from escalating into a serious fire. He also urged the public to give way on the road to allow emergency fire trucks to access the road freely in case of any emergency.
Moreover, he reiterated the importance of installing fire extinguishers in every household to prevent fire incidents at the incipient stage.
