The Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA) has recorded another milestone in its commitment to staff welfare and improved service delivery with the commissioning of a newly constructed modern toilet facility at the Oyo Area Command.
The facility, donated by the renowned Oyo-born Engineer and Philanthropist Engr. Raji Adebayo, was officially commissioned by the General Manager of OYRTMA, Mr. Adeoye Ayoade, during a brief but significant ceremony attended by management staff, officers of the command, and community stakeholders.
Speaking at the commissioning, Adeoye Ayoade commended Engr. Raji Adebayo for his generous contribution, describing the gesture as a timely intervention that aligns with OYRTMA’s drive to create a more conducive and hygienic working environment for its personnel.
He noted that the zonal command office was commissioned last year towards the mandate of the OYRTMA, noting that staff welfare remains a priority for the agency, as it directly impacts productivity, professionalism, and service to the public.
The OYRTMA general manager further emphasized that the provision of essential facilities such as modern conveniences is critical to promoting dignity and operational efficiency within government establishments.
He urged other well-meaning individuals and corporate bodies to emulate Engr. Raji’s example in supporting public institutions.
In his remarks, Engr. Raji Adebayo who was represented by members of his group said the donation was borne out of a desire to contribute meaningfully to public service and complement government efforts in infrastructure development.
He expressed appreciation to OYRTMA for its role in traffic management and road safety across the state, assuring that his support for developmental initiatives would continue.
In his goodwill message, the Oyo zonal Commander, Olonade Eyitayo Oluyinka, thanked the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde; the Executive Chairman of OYRTMA, Major Adekoya Adesagba; and the OYRTMA General Manager, Commander Adeoye Ayoade, for their unwavering support to OYRTMA operations in the Oyo Zone.
While applauding Oyo-born Engineer Raji for the construction of the modern toilet at a cost of over ₦4 million, it stands as a testament to Engr. Raji’s commitment to humanitarian service and the welfare of public servants.
Olonade described the facility as a long-awaited improvement that would enhance their comfort and overall working conditions.
In separate remarks, the OYRTMA State Director of Administration and Dr. Francis Akinsowon, who represented the Provost of the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo, commended Engr. Raji for his selfless contribution and dedication to community development.
The commissioning of the modern toilet facility underscores the growing impact of public-private collaboration in strengthening institutions and promoting sustainable development in Oyo State.
