Oyo: Properties Worth Millions of Naira Destroyed as Fire Engulfs Residential Building In Ibadan

Properties worth millions of naira have been destroyed as a result of a fire that engulfed a private residential building in Oyo State.

Heritage Echo gathered that the incident occurred at No. 1, Road 10 Adepoju Area, Ibadan.

A private flat of three (3) bedrooms residential building was engulfed by fire in the incident which occurred today, Thursday 4th December, 2025.

Properties worth millions of naira were affected although no life was lost in the incident.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande confirmed the incident today.

Akinwande noted that no life was lost in the two incidents.

He said, Upon arrival, it was the first flat of twins three (3) bedrooms and a private residential building.

“Our officers quickly swung into action and prevented it from spreading to the second flat’.

“No casualty recorded as the properties worth millions of naira were saved by the officers of the agency” he stated.

The federal fire service joined the State counterpart as the fire was collectively extinguished.

Residents applauded the State fire service for its state-of-the-art equipment in responding to the unaware inferno.

However, Akinwande urged the public to be conscious of fire appliances that are not in use from the wall socket.

He emphasized the importance of installing firefighting equipment in the respective houses and offices to prevent incidents when just starting.
