Oyo Fire Service has responded to a devastating incident as a 27-year-old man was rescued alive from a well in the Ogbomoso axis of Oyo.


The agency under the leadership of Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande disclosed this in a statement released and made available to Heritage Echo News.
According to him, the State fire service received a distress call that someone had fallen into a deep ditch on Monday.

He said the incident occurred at Ire Akari, Adeniran area in Ogbomoso, noting that the rescued individual has been handed over to the police.



“On Monday 1st December, 2025 at exactly 7:00 hours, we were summoned that somebody fell into a well at Ire Akari, Adeniran area, Ogbomoso.
Residents applauded the Oyo State government under the leadership of His Excellency Engr ‘Seyi Makinde for providing state-of-the-art equipment to the State fire service in responding to emergencies as needed.

Akinwande urged the public to always observe safety precautions in their daily activities and also emphasized the importance of having extinguishers in their respective buildings to prevent fire incidents when they just start during the dry season.
