A devastating fire has destroyed properties worth millions of naira in Ibadan.
Heritage Echo gathered that the incident occurred at the Golab shopping complex, Redeem junction, Bembo Apata, Ibadanland
Chairman of Oyo State Fire Service, Hon Maroof Adebayo Akinwande confirmed the incident, saying no life was lost. Five shops on the upper floor of the complex were affected by the fire.
Akinwande said the root cause of the inferno has not been ascertained.
On getting there, we met five shops at the upper floor of the complex building engulfed by fire.
“Firemen promptly launched a coordinated attack on the blaze and restricted the fire from spreading to other parts of the building.
“No casualty was recorded and the root cause of the fire incident was yet to ascertain and fire investigation still in progress”.
The shop owners commended the Oyo State government under the leadership of His Excellency Engr ‘Seyi Makinde for providing state-of-the-art equipment to the State fire service in responding to emergencies.
