The federal lawmaker representing Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency, Rep. Abass Adigun (Agboworin), has extended warmest congratulations to Oyo State Governor, His Excellency, Seyi Makinde, on the resounding success of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national convention, which has ushered in a new era of leadership and hope for the party.
The lawmaker, in a statement by his Media Group, on Sunday, commended the governor for his unwavering commitment to the PDP and his instrumental role in ensuring a peaceful, free, and fair convention.
According to the two-term lawmaker, who is also the Chairman, House Committee on Narcotic Drugs, the governor’s leadership and vision have been instrumental in shaping the party’s future and repositioning it for success in the 2027 general elections.
The convention, which took place at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan, has witnessed the emergence of Dr. Kabiru Tanimu Turaki as the party’s new National Chairman and Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja as National Secretary, in a testament to the party’s commitment to democratic principles and inclusivity.
The statement said: “Having concluded the convention, which was largely successful, I want to applaud my Principal and the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Seyi Makinde, for his dedication to the PDP and his tireless efforts to strengthen the party’s internal democracy.
“There is no doubt that his leadership has been a beacon of hope for the party, and we are confident that his continued support will drive the PDP to greater heights.
“Governor Makinde’s commitment to the party is a shining example of his loyalty and dedication to the ideals of the PDP.”
