The ideals of good governance form the bedrock of great nations. Nations where leaders prioritise the common good over personal gain to ensure that its people have a stake in the society’s direction.

Nations become great when they establish systems that promote fairness, accountability, and opportunity that allows people to contribute and benefit from collective efforts. The fundamentals of growth and development lie in stable institutions, equitable resource distribution, and policies that encourage innovation and social cohesion. Behind every thriving society are critical thinkers and core policy formulators who often work quietly as technocrats or advisors to craft strategies that address real needs and anticipate future challenges.

It is this deliberate structure that turns potential into something that is sustaining and prosperous, as it can be seen in countries where governance is not a game of chance but a calculated pursuit of excellence for all.

The metrics for measuring good governance are nearly universal, grounded in outcomes like economic stability, access to justice, and public participation, which people everywhere desire from their leaders. What citizens crave, be it reliable services, honest administration, responsive policies, and host of others, can be evaluated through consistent variables such as transparency in decision-making and effectiveness in service delivery.

I wrote “Our Realistic Tomorrow” with these universal metrics in mind, scripting it to align with the practical demands of leadership that serves rather than exploits. The book draws from global examples of success, adapting them to Oyo State’s context, to offer a framework where governance is judged not by promises but by results that improve daily lives.

This approach ensures the ideas are not abstract but directly applicable, thus providing a clear path for any leader committed to real change.

This book serves as a practical resource for anyone who values governance, ideal participatory democracy, and the prosperity it brings to people. It is particularly useful for aspiring leaders, young or old, who seek to navigate political or administrative roles with purpose.

For the youth, it offers guidance on building careers in public service, emphasising the skills needed to drive meaningful reform. It also comes handy and useful for high school students of English and literature, for essays and comprehension.

More particularly, the strength of the book lies in its ability to address various viewpoints and contentions, presenting ideas that adapt to different settings while maintaining a core focus on ethics and results. Whether you are a student of politics or a seasoned administrator, its pages provide tools to evaluate and implement strategies that encourage growth.

I have travelled widely and worked in local and international environments. I have gained insights into leadership, administration, human relations, management, and interpersonal dynamics that apply across borders. These experiences, combined with my native intelligence, education, personal encounters, avid reading, and practical wit, are embedded in the book to offer tips and insights that function in any cultural, national, political, or administrative context. The content emphasises how effective governance relies on clear communication, ethical decision-making, and collaborative efforts, drawing from real-world examples to show what works and how. This global perspective ensures the book’s advice is not limited to Oyo State but provides value to anyone aiming to lead with impact and integrity.

I present this book as a worthy read for everyone, regardless of race, colour, ethnicity, nationality, or background. While the ideas are tailored for Oyo State, they align with global realities and can inspire solutions in any setting. The principles of fairness, development, and service are universal, and that makes the book a companion for those seeking to understand or practice good governance. I invite you to obtain a copy. Let it serve as a resource to spark your own contributions to a better world. Our tomorrow is, indeed, realistic.
