A lawmaker representing Ibadan North East Constituency II in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Owolabi Olusola, has congratulated Ambassador Taofeeq Arapaja on his consensus nomination as the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a statement released and made available to newsmen in Ibadan, Hon. Owolabi described Ambassador Arapaja’s nomination as a testament to his proven leadership qualities, steadfast loyalty, and selfless service to the party over the years.
According to him, the consensus decision reflects the overwhelming confidence of party stakeholders in Ambassador Arapaja’s capability to further strengthen and unify the PDP at the national level.
“Ambassador Arapaja’s emergence as the consensus nominee for National Secretary is a reward for his consistency, integrity, and unwavering commitment to the growth of our great party.
He has demonstrated uncommon leadership, both as a former Deputy National Chairman (South) and as a diplomat, and we have no doubt he will excel in this new capacity,” Hon. Owolabi stated.
Hon. Olusola commended Governor Seyi Makinde and other party leaders for their efforts in promoting internal cohesion and fostering unity within the PDP, stressing that the consensus approach reflected collective maturity and strategic foresight.
The lawmaker further expressed optimism that Ambassador Arapaja’s nomination would inspire renewed confidence among party members and energize the PDP’s preparation for future electoral contests.
“This development is not only a victory for Oyo State but also for the South-West zone, which continues to play a pivotal role in the party’s advancement. I believe Ambassador Arapaja will bring his wealth of experience, diplomacy, and inclusive leadership style to reposition the PDP for greater achievements,” he added.
