In a historic display of unity and interfaith solidarity, both Christian and Muslim communities in the United Kingdom have endorsed the gubernatorial ambition of Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK), a leading aspirant for the 2027 Oyo State Governorship Election under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
These endorsements reflect the growing trust among Nigerians in the diaspora in Dr. Kareem’s inclusive leadership vision, integrity, and lifelong commitment to service and social progress.
The Christian community endorsement took place on Sunday, 12th October 2025, at the RCCG Revival Christian Church of Enfield, under the leadership of Senior Pastor Dr. Nick Chanda and Dr. Mulenga Chanda. During the service, Dr. Kareem addressed the congregation, outlining his vision for a more just, inclusive, and progressive Oyo State. He emphasized that his aspiration for leadership was inspired not by personal ambition, but by a conviction that Oyo State can become a model of fairness, opportunity, and balanced development.
“I am not running out of ambition for power or position,” AKK said. “My intention is guided by faith and conviction — that Oyo State can rise to become a model of progress, justice, and shared prosperity for all.”
The church leadership commended Dr. Kareem’s humility, focus, and visible achievements in education, youth empowerment, and philanthropy, offering special prayers for his success and divine guidance. Members of the congregation also purchased copies of his newly launched book, ‘Our Realistic Tomorrow’ and took photographs with him, expressing enthusiasm for his vision and message of hope for Oyo State.
Earlier, on Sunday, 5th October 2025, the Muslim community in the United Kingdom—including the Assalatur-Rahman Islamic Association of the UK, the Dhiyaaul-Haq Islamic Society, and other prominent Nigerian Muslim groups—had similarly offered their endorsement during a special interfaith engagement event. The gathering came ahead of the AKK Town Hall Meeting, Book Launch, and Fundraising held successfully on Saturday, 11th October 2025, at Harris Academy Bermondsey Hall, London, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Muslim leaders praised Dr. Kareem’s bridge-building approach, describing him as a man of principle, humility, and dedication to equitable governance. They prayed for his success, acknowledging his consistent efforts in supporting education, youth development, and inclusive growth in Oyo State.
Expressing deep gratitude to both faith communities, Dr. Kareem reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to interfaith harmony, inclusive governance, and value-driven leadership.
“Your prayers mean so much to me,” he noted. “Leadership is a trust, and with God’s guidance and the people’s support, we will build a government that reflects our shared values — honesty, fairness, and compassion. I remain committed to being a servant-leader for all.”
