In a remarkable show of unity and support, leading Muslim communities in the United Kingdom have endorsed the gubernatorial ambition of Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK), a frontline aspirant for the 2027 Oyo State Governorship Election under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The endorsement took place on Sunday, 5th October 2025, ahead of the highly anticipated AKK Town Hall Meeting, Book Launch, and Fundraising scheduled for Saturday, 11th October 2025, at Harris Academy Bermondsey Hall, London, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
The event was held at the Assalatur-Rahman Islamic Association of the United Kingdom, one of the largest Nigerian Islamic bodies in the UK, alongside other Islamic groups including the Dhiyaaul-Haq Islamic Society of the United Kingdom and several community prayer circles.
During his visit, Dr. Kareem addressed the congregations, outlining his vision for a more just, inclusive, and progressive Oyo State. He explained that his decision to contest was not driven by a thirst for power, but by a deep conviction that Oyo State has the potential to become a beacon of fairness, opportunity, and balanced development.
“I am not running out of ambition for power or position,” AKK said. “My intention is guided by faith and conviction — that Oyo State can rise to become a model of progress, justice, and shared prosperity for all.”
The leadership of the Assalatur-Rahman Islamic Association, along with other Muslim community representatives, commended Dr. Kareem’s humility, dedication, and visible achievements in education, youth empowerment, and philanthropy. They offered special prayers for his success and divine guidance in his political journey.
Dr. Kareem expressed deep gratitude for their support and spiritual encouragement, acknowledging the moral strength and influence of the Muslim community in shaping Oyo’s future.
“Your prayers mean so much to me,” he noted. “Leadership is a trust, and with Allah’s guidance and the people’s support, we will build a government that reflects our values — honesty, fairness, and compassion. I remain committed to being a servant-leader for all.”
The visit underscored AKK’s commitment to inclusivity, faith-based engagement, and partnership with diaspora communities in advancing his developmental vision for Oyo State.
