The Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform and Agency Chairman, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Nigerians on the occasion of the country’s 65th Independence Anniversary, describing the milestone as a testament to the nation’s resilience and enduring spirit.

In a goodwill message released to Heritage Echo News on Wednesday, Akinwande applauded the courage and perseverance of Nigerians in the face of economic, social, and security challenges, while emphasizing the need for renewed patriotism and unity in advancing national development.
“Today, we celebrate 65 years of nationhood — 65 years of shared struggles, triumphs, and aspirations.
“This anniversary calls for reflection on our journey as a people and reaffirms our collective responsibility to build a safer, stronger, and more prosperous Nigeria.”

Highlighting the ongoing reforms within the Oyo State Fire Service, Hon. Akinwande applauded the executive Governor of Oyo State Engr ‘Seyi Makinde for providing state-of-the-art equipment in responding to emergency services across the State



He further reiterated the importance of institutional strengthening and emergency preparedness in safeguarding lives and property.
Akinwande noted that the Oyo fire service remains committed to repositioning the fire service for greater efficiency, transparency, and public trust.

“A reformed fire service is crucial to public safety and national resilience, our efforts in Oyo State are aligned with the broader vision of a Nigeria where institutions work effectively to serve and protect the people.”
He also commended Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration for its commitment to institutional reform and youth engagement, noting that transformative leadership at the sub-national level is essential to driving sustainable national progress.
As Nigeria marks another year of independence, Akinwande called on citizens, especially the youth, to remain hopeful and actively participate in nation-building through innovation, volunteerism, and civic responsibility.
