The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, has commended the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State for the successful and peaceful conduct of its state congress held at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan.

Olufade described the rancour-free exercise as a further testament to the PDP’s deep respect for internal democracy and unity of purpose, which he noted have become the hallmarks of the party under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde.
According to him, the governor’s purposeful leadership has not only stabilised the PDP in Oyo State but has also positioned it as a model of democratic practice in Nigeria.

He stated that the seamless conduct of the congress across all levels was a clear sign that the party would continue to consolidate its hold on power beyond 2027.

“I wish to sincerely commend the Oyo State PDP for setting another remarkable standard in internal democracy with the successful conduct of the state congress.
This is another milestone that demonstrates the unity, strength, and discipline of our great party,” Olufade said.

He further hailed Governor Makinde for his unwavering commitment to inclusiveness and fairness, stressing that the governor’s political goodwill and vision had brought unprecedented growth to the party in the state.
Hon. Olufade also congratulated the newly elected executives led by State Chairman, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro, while charging them to justify the confidence reposed in them by working tirelessly to ensure victory for the PDP in future elections.
“I warmly congratulate the newly elected executive members of our great party.
