Honoring his promise to the people— the Executive Chairman of Lagelu local government, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen is delivering big on a promise to transform the region into a beacon of security, prosperity, and education.

On Tuesday, the council chairman unveiled a sweeping set of initiatives on three critical areas that included; education, security, and prosperity.
“This is about a covenant we made with the people,” Hon. Kamorudeen declared in a powerful statement. “A year ago, we promised a Lagelu where every child can learn, every family feels safe, and every farmer thrives. Today, we’re making that vision a reality.”

The chairman’s bold agenda kicked into high gear with the distribution of 50,000 exercise books and school bags to students across Lagelu’s public primary schools—a massive investment in the much younger generation. But that’s just the start. Hon. Kamorudeen also commissioned a cutting-edge security base for the Western Nigeria Security Network (WNSN) codenamed Operation Amotekun, a fortress designed to keep crime at bay. To further empower local security forces, Hon. Kamorudeen handed over a new operational vehicle to the Lagelu Security Network, ensuring they can protect communities with unmatched efficiency. The project was officially commissioned by Oyo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Demola Ojo, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government, symbolizing the state’s strong support for Lagelu’s efforts on local security.

In a move that’s sparking excitement across the region, Hon. Kamorudeen also empowered Lagelu’s farmers with essential tools and implements to boost agricultural productivity. “Our farmers are the heartbeat of this community,” he said. “We’re giving them what they need to grow our economy and feed our people.”
These initiatives are a direct fulfillment of the chairman’s pledge to build a Lagelu where opportunity and safety go hand in hand. “This isn’t just about projects,” Hon. Kamorudeen emphasized. “It’s about uniting for a common purpose—a Lagelu where every child learns without hindrance, where every family thrives in peace, and where every farmer sows the seeds of progress with hope.”

The chairman was quick to credit Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for paving the way. “Governor Makinde’s leadership has supercharged local governments across Oyo State, making them more responsive and innovative,” he said. “We owe the Governor a tremendous debt of gratitude.”
The people of Lagelu are all in, rallying behind Hon. Kamorudeen’s #TogetherWeCan administration. From community leaders to everyday citizens, the mood is electric. “This is leadership that delivers,” said an Islamic scholar, Prof K.K Oloso. “Kamorudeen is building a future we can all believe in.”
The commissioning event, attended by a distinguished array of state and federal officials, political heavyweights, traditional rulers, and everyday citizens, was a testament to the unity driving Lagelu’s progress. From the presence of revered monarchs to the enthusiastic cheers of local residents, the ceremony reflected a community united behind a shared vision.
