The coronation ceremony of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, is set to be a grand affair, with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in attendance.
Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem, a gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, has extended a warm welcome to the President, highlighting the significance of the occasion.
The coronation ceremony had in attendance President Tinubu’s presence underscoring the importance of the Olubadan’s role in Ibadanland’s cultural and traditional heritage.

The week-long program for the Coronation, which commenced on Monday, September 22, 2025, will also feature “First Coronation Lecture, scheduled for today, September 24, 2025, at the International Conference Center, University of Ibadan, to be delivered by Prof. Toyin Falola, and the Coronation Day Friday, September 26, 2025, at the Ancient Hall, Mapo, where Oba(Sen) Abdulrashidi Adewolu Akanmu Ladoja will receive the staff of office and instrument of office.
Dr. Kareem, in his welcome address, expressed his delight at the President’s presence, noting that it would add to the grandeur of the occasion. As a gubernatorial aspirant, Dr. Kareem has been engaging with various stakeholders in Oyo State, and his presence at the coronation ceremony highlights the importance of traditional institutions in the state’s governance.
