The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Atiba Local Government Area has successfully conducted its congress, culminating in the election of Mr. Isiaka Ayinde as the new Local Government Party Chairman.
The congress, held at L. A Primary Sabo, Oyo, on Saturday September 20th, 2025 in accordance with the PDP’s internal democratic processes, brought together key stakeholders, party delegates, and grassroots members from across wards in the local government.

While speaking at the Congress, Oyo Assembly Chief Whip representing the good people of Atiba State Constituency, Hon. Gbenga Joseph Oyekola expressed gratitude to the party stakeholders, members for embracing unity and consensus in electing new executives to steer the ship of the party, stressing that it reflects the party’s commitment to internal democracy as well as collective progress.
Oyekola further used the medium to congratulate the new local executives urging them to demonstrate a collective desire to move the party forward in Atiba and Oyo State in particular.
He, however admonished the party members and the new executive to continue to support the sustainable legacy of His Excellency Engr ‘Seyi Makinde beyond 2027.
“My people, the only party to turn the economic struggle of the nation into sustainable progress is the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), we know where the shoe pinches and we’re determined to fix the nation.
In their own reactions, Sooro Political Head Badmus Olaide, Alhaji Quadri Olatunji, Kabiru Ashamu applauded the peaceful conduct of the congress, praising party leaders, stakeholders, and faithful members for their commitment to unity, harmony, and the continued growth of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
They further urged all party members to remain steadfast and work together in strengthening the party ahead of future political engagements.
Speaking after his emergence, Mr. Ayinde expressed gratitude to party members for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged to foster inclusiveness, transparency, and strategic grassroots engagement during his tenure.
“I am deeply honored by this responsibility,” Ayinde stated. “Together, we will build a stronger, more united PDP in Atiba that truly reflects the aspirations of our people.”
Party leaders and observers praised the peaceful conduct of the congress, noting it as a positive step toward internal cohesion and organizational growth within the PDP at the local level.
With the congress now concluded, stakeholders believe the election of Isiaka Ayinde signals a new chapter for the PDP in Atiba, one anchored on unity, progress, and grassroots development.
