Properties worth millions of naira destroyed as early morning Inferno ravages shops in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.

Heritage Echo gathered that the incident occurred at Saki Garage, Opposite Trans Amusement Park Bodija, Ibadan.
It was learnt that the fire incident started early on Friday, September 12, 2025.

Our correspondence affirmed that the inferno affected four (04) shops out of Eleven (11).



No casualty was recorded in the incident as properties worth millions of naira were destroyed.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform/Agency Chairman Hon Moroof Adebayo Akinwande confirmed the incident to our correspondence.

Akinwande declared that the incident affected four (04) shops in a statement released to Heritage Echo.
He further advised Oyo residents to report any fire incidents and thereafter, give the correct address to the agency.
“The fire incident was reported at exactly 02:07 hours on Friday 12th September,2025 by a running caller ( Mr. Lateef from Amotekun Bódìjà, Division to shops on fire at the above address.
“The fire personnel led by ACFS Adedeji (Mrs) swiftly responded and deployed to the scene of the fire incident.
“Upon arrival, it was four (4) out of eleven (11) shops engulfed by fire and our officers swung into action and curtailed and restricted the fire from spreading to other nearby shops and buildings. The fire was completely extinguished.
“No casualty was recorded and the remote cause of the fire was traced to be lighted embers unattended after the close of the shop at night, ignited by nearby combustibles, and set the place on fire.
“The four shops were affected by fire and properties worth millions of naira were saved by the officers of the Agency.
Akinwande advised the public to be conscious of fire. He also urges every household to install fire extinguishers in their respective buildings to keep safe from imminent fire incidents.
