
The Oyo State Fire Service has confirmed that a vehicle belonging to the Western Nigeria Security Network, popularly known as Amotekun Corps, caught fire while in motion.

The confirmation was made in an official statement on Friday, signed by the agency’s chairman, Hon. Maroof Akinwande.
Heritage Echo gathered that the incident occurred on Thursday, at Mokola Roundabout, Mokola, Ibadan, Oyo State capital.


Akinwande, while reacting to the incident, reaffirmed that the vehicle caught fire while in motion, saying no casualty was recorded.



He stated that Fire personnel led by ACFS Adedeji promptly responded and deployed to the scene of the incident.
Upon arrival, it was a JMC Patrol Van with a registration number unknown to Amotekun Corps engulfed by fire.

However, the officers swiftly swung into action and extinguished the fire.
Hon. Akinwande further advised the public to always observe safety rules and procedures by keeping fire extinguishers in their ways.
