In a continued effort to improve education and support grassroots development, Hon. Waheed Akintayo, a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Oluyole Constituency, is set to commission a newly renovated block of classrooms at Community Primary School, Olunde, in Ibadan.

The commissioning ceremony, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 27th August, 2025 at noon, will also feature a multimillion naira financial empowerment initiative aimed at supporting women, youths, and small-scale traders within the constituency.

According to a statement from the lawmaker’s media team, the classroom renovation project is part of Akintayo’s broader commitment to educational development and improved learning environments for children in public schools.

“The renovation of these classrooms is not just about infrastructure,” Hon. Akintayo said. “It is about investing in the future of our children and ensuring they have a safe, conducive environment to learn and thrive.”

The renovated block of classrooms, which had previously fallen into a state of disrepair, now have a new look.

Teachers and parents in the community have lauded the development as a much-needed boost to the school’s learning conditions.

In addition to the educational intervention, the event will also include the distribution of financial support packages to over 200 beneficiaries as part of Akintayo’s economic empowerment scheme.

The initiative is targeted at enhancing the livelihoods of low-income earners and promoting entrepreneurship in the Oluyole constituency.

PDP leaders, education officials, community stakeholders, and political figures including top government officials are expected to attend the ceremony.

Hon. Akintayo, popularly known as “Ilumoka Presenter” due to his background in broadcasting and community advocacy, has consistently used his platform in the House of Assembly to push for development-oriented projects and people-centered legislation.

Residents of the Olunde area have expressed appreciation for the lawmaker’s initiatives, describing them as timely and impactful.
