The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, on Saturday paid a condolence visit to the leadership of the Park Management System (PMS) in Eruwa following the tragic road accident that claimed the lives of seven persons, including a PMS member and the medical doctor in charge of Lanlate General Hospital.

The visit came a day after a fatal crash involving a Toyota bus occurred at Osuponri Village, near ICT Polytechnic, Itori, along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.

The vehicle, with number plate KJA 851 YH, reportedly suffered a tyre burst, causing it to somersault multiple times.

Several passengers sustained injuries while seven lost their lives.

Among the deceased was Mr. Aremu, the driver of the ill-fated bus and a member of the PMS in Eruwa.

Another painful loss was that of Dr. Kolade Oke, the medical officer heading Lanlate General Hospital.

Other victims were also identified as indigenes of Eruwa and Lanlate in Ibarapa East Local Government Area.

Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin, who was received by the PMS Chairman in Eruwa, Com. Sunday Adewuyi, described the incident as a heartbreaking loss not just for the families but for the entire Ibarapa East community.

“We are in mourning. This tragedy has taken away some of our finest—hardworking, responsible individuals who were contributing to the growth of our society. My heart goes out to the families of the victims, the entire PMS structure, and the medical community of Lanlate,” the Speaker said.

He prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed and for quick recovery of those receiving treatment in the hospital.

Com. Sunday Adewuyi appreciated the Speaker’s prompt visit and empathy, noting that the PMS was shaken by the loss of Mr. Aremu, who was a diligent member of their team, and others involved in the fatal accident
