Heritage Echo confirmed that a residential building in the Oyo State axis has been ravaged by fire.


The incidents occurred on Thursday, August 21st, 2025 at Atake, Adebo Area, Oja-Oba, Iseyin local government areas, Iseyin, Oyo State.
It was also discovered that no casualties were recorded, and the properties worth millions of naira were affected by the inferno.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform/Agency Chairman, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande confirmed the incident to our correspondence.




Akinwande said the incident was a result of an electric surge.
According to him, “On Thursday, 21st August 2025, at exactly 16:04 hours, a distressed call was reported through a telephone call to Mrs Adegoke Anifat at the house on fire at the above address.

“The Agency’s Officers, led by ACFS Azeez Muritala, quickly mobilized and responded to the scene, and on getting there, it was an ancient residential building with an adjoining shop well alight. The crew promptly swung into action, curtailed the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby buildings and properties.
“No casualties were recorded and the properties worth millions of naira were affected by fire.
“The incident was a result of an electric surge.
Akinwande further urged the public to be conscious of fire and emphasized the importance of having fire extinguishers in their respective buildings to prevent fire incidents at the incipient stage.
