The Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman of Oyo West Local Government, Hon. Ademuyiwa Adewara, has commended Senator Monsurat Olajumoke Sunmonu on her recent appointment to the National Convention Planning Committee, as well as her role in overseeing the Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election victory during the weekend.

In a statement released and made available to newsmen on Monday, Adewara described the appointments as “fitting recognitions of Senator Monsurat’s enduring commitment to democratic values, her wealth of political experience, and her sterling record of service at both the state and national levels.”
According to him, the decision to entrust the former Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly and distinguished Senator with dual responsibilities both as a member of the highly strategic Convention Planning Committee and as a supervisory figure in the critical Ibadan North bye-election victory for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle DoN, reflects the confidence the party and stakeholders have in her integrity, organizational capability, and deep-rooted grassroots connection.

“Senator Monsurat Sunmonu is a woman of proven excellence, a leader whose style combines empathy, structure, and unwavering principle. Her inclusion in these high-level responsibilities is not just a win for our party but also a strong signal of inclusivity and competence,” Adewara said.



He further expressed optimism that her involvement would strengthen democratic processes and ensure credibility in the party’s internal and external engagements.
He noted that her productive efforts in Ibadan North Coast home victory, being a politically strategic constituency, which requires the type of seasoned politician like her.

He, however speaks on behalf of the Oyo West Local Government Chiefs of Staff to congratulate her on the excellent performance as well as a well-deserved appointment.
