The Forum of Local Government Chairmen in Oyo State has thrown its full weight behind the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle, popularly known as DoN, ahead of Saturday’s election.

In a statement issued on Friday, the council chairmen commended Hon. DoN’s record of service described him as the most competent choice to deliver effective representation for the constituency.

“Our support for Hon. DoN is total and unwavering. His proven capacity, people-oriented leadership, and dedication to development make him the right candidate for Ibadan North,” the statement read.

The forum, however, expressed concern over what it described as a “credible threat to peace,” alleging that the APC candidate, Wale Murphy has vowed to unleash violence during the poll.

“We strongly condemn this in the interest of democracy. We call on all security agencies to be on full alert and ensure the safety of lives and property. The people’s will must not be subverted through fear or intimidation,” the statement added.

The chairmen urged residents of Ibadan North Federal Constituency to come out in large numbers, vote peacefully, and ensure their votes count.

“We enjoin all eligible voters to turn out en masse tomorrow, vote for the PDP candidate, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle DoN, and protect our collective future,” they said.

The statement was signed by Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele, Chairman of the Forum of Local Government Chairmen, Oyo State, and made available to the press by the Forum’s Public Relations Officer, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, on Friday.
