A private residential building of a three-bedroom flat has been engulfed by fire in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Heritage Echo gathered that the incident occurred on Friday morning at Ilupeju Community Liberty Academy Odo-Ona, Eléwé, Ibadan.
No casualty was recorded as properties worth millions of naira were saved by the firefighters.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform/Agency Chairman, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Falana confirmed the incident to our correspondence.



He said, “The fire incident was reported at exactly 02:23hrs on Friday, 15th August,2025, through a telephone call, and Mrs Jumoke Alomoja reported a house on fire at the above address.
“The Agency’s Officers quickly mobilized to the scene of the incident. On getting there, it was a private residential building of a three-bedroom flat engulfed by fire, and the officers swiftly swung into action and curtailed the fire from spreading to the nearby buildings and properties.

“The fire was completely extinguished, and it affected the whole building and nearby buildings, and properties worth millions of naira were saved by the fire service.
No casualty was recorded, and the fire incident was a result of an electricity surge, which ignited nearby combustibles.
