It is with profound humility, reverence, and immeasurable joy to celebrate a father whose life continues to be a guiding light not only to me as his son, but to countless individuals across Ibadanland, Oyo State and Nigeria at large.

Today, as history is set to mark the elevation of Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja to the revered throne of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, I join the multitude of well-wishers to celebrate an Elder statesman, my father, and now, a monarch whose life has been defined by service, integrity, and resolute devotion to his people.

Daddy’s journey has been nothing short of remarkable. From the corridors of business and national politics to the governorship of Oyo State, and now to the spiritual and cultural pinnacle as the Olubadan of Ibadan land. Beyond his political achievements, Senator Ladoja has always been a man deeply connected to his roots and community. His transition from a political leader to a traditional monarch is a natural progression for a man who has consistently demonstrated a profound love for his people and a definite commitment to their welfare. Throughout his life, he has been a pillar of support for countless individuals and a source of inspiration for many aspiring leaders.

His actions have always been guided by a sense of fairness and a deep-seated belief in the potential of Ibadan and its people.

The Olubadan of Ibadan is more than just a king; he is the custodian of the city’s traditions, the moral compass for its inhabitants, and a symbol of unity and continuity. With Oba Ladoja soon to be coronated at the helm, the city is assured of a leader with a proven track record of service and a deep understanding of both modern governance and traditional values.

His vast experience as an Elder statesman and his inherent wisdom will undoubtedly serve as invaluable assets in navigating the complexities of modern-day leadership while preserving the rich heritage of Ibadanland.

His life has always been rooted in the principles of justice, equity, and the unrelenting pursuit of the common good.
As his son, I have had the rare privilege of witnessing, up-close, the quiet sacrifices he has made, the sleepless nights spent in service to the people, and the moments of deep introspection where the weight of leadership bore heavily on him. Yet, never once did he buck. Never once did he compromise the values he holds dearly. His love for Ibadan runs deep, his vision for our land resolute, and his loyalty to our traditions unassailable.

This new chapter as Olubadan is not just a crown on his head, but a natural continuation of a lifelong commitment to the upliftment of his people. In Baba, Ibadan gains not just a king, but a custodian of our heritage whose reign will surely be marked by wisdom, peace, and purposeful leadership.

As a son, I am proud and overwhelmed with gratitude for the father you have been, for the man of principle you are, and for the legacy you are still building.

Your ascension to the throne is not just a family honour, but a blessing to Ibadanland, and indeed, to Yoruba history.
Kabiyesi, may your reign be long, prosperous, and impactful. May your days on the throne bring harmony, development, and cultural renaissance to our people.

And may the name Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, forever be etched in the annals of Ibadan’s golden legacy.

Distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic
Your Excellency, former Governor of Oyo State
His Imperial Majesty
Kabiyesi!!! A lase keji Orisa
And above all my Daddy!!

Ibadanland is blessed.
Oyo State is blessed
Nigeria is proud.
