Oyo: Millions of Naira Goods Destroyed as Fire Razes Shop in Ibadan

Another devastating fire incident occurred in Ibadan as goods worth millions of naira destroyed as a result of fire that ravages a container shop.

Heritage Echo Correspondence gathered that the incident occurred at Mobil Filling, Ring Road, Oluyole, Ibadan, Oyo State capital.

The said container shop was stocked with goods worth millions of naira and no casualty was recorded in the incident.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform/Agency Chairman, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande confirmed the incident.

Akinwande in a statement released to our correspondence on Wednesday said; “The fire incident was reported at exactly 18:08hrs on Tuesday 5th August,2025 through telephone call and Mr Abass to shop on fire at the above address.

“The Firemen led by ACFS Adeniyi Adesina promptly responded to the emergency call and on arrival, it was a container shop on fire . The Firemen quickly got to work and curtailed the fire from spreading to surrounding Filling Station and other shops within the vicinity.

“No casualty was recorded. The fire only affected the container shop and the lubricant oil stored inside it, while the Mobil Filling Station, nearby shops and properties worth millions of naira were saved from the devastating fire by the fire service” He concluded.
