The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, who announced the recess during Thursday’s plenary session held at the Assembly Complex, Secretariat, Ibadan, said the break was in accordance with the Assembly’s legislative calendar.

This was as the Speaker also disclosed that members are to continue working from their various constituencies amd homes.

Ogundoyin, while appreciating members for their commitment to legislative duties since the beginning of the year, noted that the recess would enable lawmakers to engage more closely with their constituents and assess the level of developmental projects across their respective constituencies.

“This break is essential for lawmakers to reconnect with the grassroots, monitor ongoing government projects, and gather feedback that will shape legislative interventions in the second half of the year,” he said.

The Speaker added that the Assembly had passed several critical bills and resolutions aimed at supporting the policy directions of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration, especially in areas such as education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and rural development.

While urging lawmakers to maintain close contact with their constituents during the recess, Ogundoyin also reminded them to remain committed to peace and the progress of the state.
