In a warm and heartfelt tribute, Hon. Adebayo Babajide Gabriel, fondly called Jagaban of the 9th and 10th Assembly and the honourable member representing Ibadan North Constituency 2 at the Oyo State House of Assembly, has extended his sincere congratulations to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, and his beloved wife, Engr. Mrs. Tamunominini Olufunke Makinde, on the conferment of the highly esteemed chieftaincy titles of Aare Omoluabi and Yeye Aare Omoluabi of Akure Kingdom.
The revered titles were conferred by His Imperial Majesty, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, the Deji of Akure, in a vibrant and historic ceremony at the Deji’s Palace on Friday, July 18, 2025.
Describing the honour as both “fitting and glorious,” Hon. Babajide Gabriel hailed the recognition as a monumental affirmation of Governor Makinde’s towering legacy of selfless leadership, cultural integrity, and people-focused governance.
“His Excellency has not only redefined what it means to govern with empathy and vision but has also carried the Omoluabi ethos, honour, truth, humility, and courage into the very fabric of our state’s transformation,” Hon. Gabriel stated.
He noted that the Deji-in-Council’s acknowledgment of Governor Makinde as Aare Omoluabi reflects the admiration and respect the Oyo State helmsman commands across South-West Nigeria and beyond.
Hon. Babajide Gabriel also lauded the First Lady, Engr. Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde, for her calm yet impactful influence in governance, especially in areas of women empowerment, child advocacy, and community development.
“Behind every great leader is often a greater pillar of support.
Her Excellency, the Yeye Aare Omoluabi, has proven herself as a paragon of grace, compassion, and quiet strength.
Her relentless advocacy for social justice and family cohesion continues to uplift lives across the state.”
The Ibadan North lawmaker emphasized that the honour is not merely ceremonial but emblematic of the deep trust and admiration the Makinde family has cultivated through their exemplary lifestyle and leadership.
“This is a moment of pride not only for the First Family of Oyo State but for all sons and daughters of Ibadan North and Oyo at large.
The values they represent are values we must continue to uphold in public service.”
Hon. Babajide Gabriel concluded with a prayer for continued divine guidance and strength for the Governor and his wife as they carry on in their journey of transformation and cultural upliftment for Oyo State.
