Properties, goods, materials, and equipment worth millions of naira have been destroyed by an early morning fire that ravaged shops in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.


Heritage Echo gathered that the incident occurred on Sunday, at Oja-Igbo, behind Sound Palace, Ogbomoso.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform/Agency Chairman, Hon Moroof Adebayo Akinwande, confirmed the incident in our correspondence.

He said, “Exactly 00:30hrs, the emergency was reported through the running caller and Mr Oladapo Raimi to the shop on fire at the above address.




The Firemen, led by PFS11 Oluwaleye quickly deployed to the scene of the Fire incident.
On arrival, we met fire in a shop and we swiftly swung into action and curtailed the fire from spreading to the other shops.

The fire slightly affected a shop out of a row of fifteen(15) shops. Therefore, the agency was able to save properties worth millions of naira.

The victim commended the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, courtesy of the prompt response of the state fire service to curb the devastating fire.

However, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Reform/ Chairman Fire Services Agency, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande, urged the public to be conscious of fire every time and to understand the need to have fire extinguishers in their respective buildings to prevent fire at the incipient stage.
